Tasks

These apply each time you open the Tasks page.

|---|---|---|
| Default view | Table, Board, Calendar | Which view the Tasks page opens on. You can still switch views on the page. |
| Hide done by default | On or off | Hides tasks whose status counts as done when you open the Tasks page. It adds a Status: not Done (any) filter, which you can remove. |

|---|---|---|
| Week starts on | Monday, Sunday | The first column of the month and the week. |
| Default layout | Month, Week | The layout the calendar opens on. The Month and Week switch on the page still changes it. |
| Tasks per day in month view | 2 to 6 | How many tasks each day shows before the rest fold into “+N more”. |
| Colour tasks by | None, Status, Topic | Adds a coloured edge to each task: its status colour, or a colour for its first topic. A topic always gets the same colour. Overdue tasks always show red. |
| Show weekends | On or off | When off, the calendar shows Monday to Friday and lists any weekend tasks from a button above it. |
| Show done tasks | On or off | When off, done tasks are left out of the calendar. |
See The tasks calendar.

Resetting columns moves only your own tasks. Statuses do not change: columns and statuses are separate. See The kanban board.

| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Disable AI processing | New entries are saved but not processed by the AI: no AI title, summary, topics, people or relationships. Off at first. |

- US English;
- Keep my wording: the AI never changes your notes. Summaries are still written for you.
See How the AI files your entries.

- Long notes
- Tasks
- Screenshots
- Images
All five are on at first.
