Settings overview

Settings is where you shape Ultrathink to fit the way you work: how it looks, what the sidebar shows, how the AI files your entries, and which apps can save to your account.

This page explains how Settings is laid out. The other pages in this section go through each Settings page in turn.

Opening Settings

There are two ways in:

  • Click Settings in the sidebar. It sits in the Manage section unless you have moved it.
  • Click your name or initials at the top right to open the Account menu, then choose Settings.

Settings opens on the Account page.

How Settings is laid out

When Settings is open, its own list of pages takes the place of the sidebar. The pages sit in four groups:

GroupPages
Basic settingsAccount, Billing, Appearance, Navigation, Notifications
LayoutEntities, Content types, Grid, Tasks, Detail panel
AdvancedWork plan, AI search, Relationships
ConfigDevice keys, Integrations, Downloads

At the top of the list, Back to Ultrathink takes you back to your startup page.

Each Settings page is made of groups of rows. Every row has its name on the left, a line of help underneath, and the control on the right.

Pro pages

Work plan and AI search are Pro features, so their Settings pages only appear in the list when you are on the Pro plan or a Pro trial.

Entities appears for everyone, but its settings need Pro. On the Free plan the page shows an upgrade message instead. See Plans and billing for what each plan includes.

On a phone

On a phone there is no sidebar, so Settings opens on the list of pages. Tap a page to open it.

Changes save automatically

There is no Save button on most Settings pages. A switch or a choice takes effect as soon as you change it. A text box, such as a prompt or a label, saves when you click away from it.

Two places still ask you to confirm:

  • On Account, profile and password changes have their own Save profile and Update password buttons.
  • Anything that cannot be undone, such as Reset columns or Reset all settings, asks first.

Settings follow you

Your settings are saved to your account, not to the browser. They stay in step across open tabs and across your devices: change the theme in one tab and the others follow.

Going straight to a page

Each Settings page has its own address, so you can bookmark one. For example, tryultrathink.com/app/settings?tab=billing opens Billing.

Putting things back

Most text settings, such as prompts and the AI search entry limit, show a Customised label once you change them, with a Reset button that puts back the default.

To put every setting back to its default in one go, use Reset all settings at the foot of Settings > Detail panel. It asks you to confirm, and it cannot be undone.
