On your phone
An iPhone app is coming soon. Until then, use the web app on your phone. There is nothing to install: open your phone’s browser, go to tryultrathink.com/app and sign in.
What you see depends on your phone.
| Device | What the web app shows |
|---|---|
| iPhone | A quick capture screen, made for saving things fast with one thumb |
| Other phones | The full Ultrathink app, with the sidebar behind a menu button in the top bar |
| iPad and other tablets | The full Ultrathink app |
Everything you save on your phone goes to the same account as your computer, and the AI files it in the same way.
- Open your phone’s browser and go to tryultrathink.com/app.
- Sign in with your email address and password.
- Your browser can remember you, so you only need to do this once.
The web app works best with an internet connection. Saves need a connection to go through.
Capture on an iPhone
On an iPhone, the web app opens on the Quick Capture screen instead of the full app. It has five options:
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Note | Type a quick note |
| Draw | Sketch with your finger. The drawing is saved as an image |
| Media | Choose photos, videos, audio or documents from your phone, or take a photo |
| Paste | Paste text or a picture you have copied |
| Voice Recording | Record a voice note |
Each one saves itself three seconds after you finish. The footer of the screen says so: “Auto-saves after 3 seconds”.
A note
- Tap Note.
- Type. A small countdown appears in the corner once there is text.
- Stop typing, and the note saves after three seconds.
Tap the cross in the corner to go back to the menu without saving.
A photo or file
- Tap Media.
- Choose a photo, video, audio file or document, or take a photo.
- Add a note if you like. It saves after the countdown.
Photos, videos, audio, PDFs, Word, Excel and PowerPoint files and plain text files can be saved.
A voice note
- Tap Voice Recording. The first time, your phone asks to use the microphone: allow it.
- Recording starts. Tap to stop.
- Add a note if you like, and it saves after the countdown.
The recording is transcribed and summarised by the AI, like any other audio entry.
If a save fails
While a save is going through, the screen says “Saving…”. If it fails, it says “Not saved:” and the reason, with a Retry button. Check your connection and tap Retry. What you captured stays on the screen until it saves.
Using the full app on an iPhone
The quick capture screen is built for phone-sized screens. To browse, search and edit your entries, use the web app on a computer or tablet. Everything you capture on your iPhone is there.
The full app on other phones
On other phones the web app shows the full Ultrathink app, laid out for a small screen.
- Tap the menu button in the top bar to open the sidebar and move between pages.
- Tap an entry to open it in the detail panel.
- Capture with the New button. See Capture in the web app.
Finding your way around describes the app’s layout.
Saving from other apps
Until the iPhone app arrives, there is no Ultrathink option in your phone’s share menu. Two ways round it:
- Copy a link or some text, open the web app and use Paste (on an iPhone) or the New button (on other phones).
- Save it later from your computer with the browser extension.
Tips
- Add tryultrathink.com/app to your browser’s bookmarks or home screen so it is one tap away.
- Say what a voice note is about in the first few words. The AI uses that for its title.
- Add a short note to photos of whiteboards and documents. It makes them easier to find.
